Careers at Ingenuity
We are a fast-paced, strengths-based team who know how to have fun together and who color outside the lines to drive our InGenius ideas for clients. We walk the talk of solid branding and a cohesive, zero-drama culture.
The majority of our firm consists of Marketing Consultants and Communications Consultants.
Our Marketing Consultants are ace project managers with great communications skills and a natural affinity for people. They do everything from creating proposals to managing events and marketing campaigns, placing ads and articles, and advising clients about their marketing strategies.
Our Communications Consultants are experts with words, whether written or spoken. On a typical day they might be interviewing clients to understand the core of their business, writing key messages and other materials that express that core message, pitching a story to local media or drafting an invitation to a client's event.
Both types of consultants serve primarily as a resource to clients and should have skill sets that include:
- Excellent communication skills, including speaking, writing, and design skills. While no one person is an ace at all of these, a marketing consultant has to have strong communication skills.
- The ability to think strategically about the client's entire business and marketing and sales programs. A consultant must be able to think through many options and confidently recommend choices to help clients grow their organizations.
- Terrific interpersonal skills, including building trust and rapport with different clients and staff, listening and drawing people out, clarifying and identifying opportunities, facilitating discussion, and managing conflict straightforwardly. A marketing consultant must be able to connect with clients and team members using humor, intelligence, and emotional intelligence.
- Integrity. Our relationships require trust, confidentiality, and grace. We respect our clients and demand their respect as well. We keep our word. We fulfill on our promises.
- Willingness to do a wide range of work, from simple photocopying to high-level strategy. As a very small business, each person must be willing to do any and all types of tasks and assignments.
