Wendy and Dawn co-authored "Behind Closed Doors: What Professional Service Firms Do Wrong in a Prospect Meeting," which originally appeared in the October 2006 issue of CPA Practice Management Forum, published by CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business. They also presented the topic at the 2006 Annual Legal Marketing Conference for the MN Chapter on November 2, 2006.
Power Up!, the young professionals networking group that Ingenuity started, was featured on the cover of the Daily Life section of the Oct. 11 Pioneer Press. The article talks about Power Up! as a new way for up-and-coming professionals to network.
Christine Nelson authored an article in the September 2006 issue of Upsize magazine. The article, which appeared in the Business Builder – Networking section, was titled “Different generations require new methods, tools to schmooze.” The article talked about ways people can build their first network or retool the one they already have.
Christine Nelson was featured in the September 2006 issue of Practical Accountant. The article, “Marketing Magic: Build a Separate Affiliated Niche Identity” addresses effective ways to develop niche focuses within an accounting firm.
Wendy facilitated a discussion between the Minnesota Chapters of the Association for Accounting Marketing and the Association of Accounting Administrations on September 12, 2006. The topic was "Firm of the Future."
Ingenuity Marketing Group has been informed by Upsize magazine that they are a finalist for the 2006 Upsize Business Builder Awards. Christine Nelson recently authored a Letter to the Editor that was published in the August 2006 issue of Practical Accountant. The letter emphasized how marketers are becoming an integral part of their firms business development. Christine also stated that it is essential for CPA firms to be internally committed to allowing these marketing professionals to be strategic in their initiatives.
Power Up! – the networking group that Ingenuity formed – was featured in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's Networking page in the July 21, 2006 issue. Power Up! takes networking to a new level for young professionals who want to build a power base and influence in their careers by matching them with their ideal business development partner.
Dawn was the featured author of the Strategies column in the July 7 issue of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The article she wrote was called “Proposals that win outlines concrete solutions and list referrals.”
Wendy was recently featured in the July 2006 issue of Practical Accountant. The article, “Marketing Magic: Perfecting Your Close” gives advice on surefire ways accountants can close a sale.
Wendy wrote the article “Growing Leaders From Within: Developing Models of Leadership that Work for Your Organization” for the May/June 2006 issue of Footnote. In that same issue, it was mentioned in the “Leading from Strength” article that Ingenuity Marketing Group led a training program for the entire MNCPA staff, board and Leadership Cabinet based on the book, “Now, Discover Your Strengths.”
Wendy and Dawn presented the workshop “Proposals that Win!” at the 2006 Annual Conference of the Accounting Marketing Association in June in Denver.

Dawn and Wendy have gotten press for their Board positions on the Minnesota Chapter of the Association of Accounting Marketing. They have been in the Twin Cities Business Journal, the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Accounting Today.

Wendy and Dawn spoke at the Wisconsin Chapter of Association for Accounting Marketing on Thursday, March 16, 2006. The topic was "Building Influence" and was held at Virchow Krause in Milwaukee.
Dawn Wagenaar has been elected President and Wendy Nemitz elected Secretary for the Minnesota Chapter of the Association for Accounting Marketing.
Wendy Nemitz spoke on a panel for the Minnesota Entrepreneurs Group on Tuesday, February 21, 2006. Her topic was "Four Practical Things I Know in an Impractical World." About 50 people attended at the Calhoun Beach Club. ME! is a great organization for people who want to start or have started businesses. Their website is www.mn-entrepreneurs.org.
We were thrilled to win first place in the website category at the Your Honor Awards at the Legal Marketing Association's Minnesota Annual Conference. The "Best Website" was for William H. Hansen & Associates, an estate planning law firm in Golden Valley. We would like to thank Bill and his staff for being so open to creativity and warmth in their website and for creating a friendly and professional firm for us to work with. We would also like to thank Kristin Smith, who did a terrific job art directing and designing the site, and Shari Alovera, who took the interesting and fun photos. Dawn was recently asked to co-chair the AAM – Marketing Achievement Awards. The awards will be presented at the AAM Conference in Denver June 2006.
