- Wendy and Dawn conducted a webinar for LMA on December 13th called "The Next Generation: How to Instill Practice Development Skills in Associates." (The link will replay the webinar after you complete a very quick viewer registration form.)
We were thrilled to win second place in the "Promotional/Collateral Materials and Websites" category at the Your Honor Awards at the Legal Marketing Association's Minnesota Annual Conference. Our entry was announcement cards for Lucas Family Law, a family law firm in St. Paul. We would like to thank Joan Lucas and her staff for being so open to creativity and warmth in their announcements and for creating a friendly and professional firm for us to work with.
- Wendy and Dawn presented "Behind Closed Doors: Why 9 out of 10 Service Professionals Fail the Prospect Meeting" at the Legal Marketing Association - New England chapter conference in Boston on November 15-16.
- Wendy and Dawn presented "Developing Influence - Strategies for Being a Great Ambassador at and Beyond Your Firm" for the Massachusetts Society for Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) on November 16.
- Dawn authored the article "Increase Your IQ (Intimacy Quotient) with Customers," which appeared in the July 2007 issue of the CPA Practice Management Forum. Reprinted with permission.
- Wendy authored the article "Law firm leaders should steer boat, not row," which appeared in the July 6, 2007 issue of The National Law Review.
- Dawn was the featured columnist in the Commentary section of the July 16, 2007 issue of Minnesota Lawyer. Her column was titled "Future rainmakers should build networks now."
- Wendy and Dawn spoke at the MSI Legal & Accounting Network Worldwide Conference on June 17, 2007 in Chicago. There topic was "Space to Win: Leadership in Winning Firms."
Ingenuity took the national AAM conference – "Unchartered Waters" – by storm June 5-8 in Savannah, Georgia. Wendy and Dawn were honored to be among the conference presenters. They presented "Behind Closed Doors: Why 9 out of 10 Service Professionals Fail the Prospect Meeting." Ingenuity had a booth in the exhibit hall for the first time; it was a huge hit. The theme of the booth was "Get Your Firm Moving." In between sessions, Dawn, Wendy and Liz could be found facilitating dance-offs in the booth with the Dance, Dance Revolution interactive display. Ingenuity accomplished yet another first at this year's conference – we took home a coveted Association for Accounting Marketing - Marketing Achievement Award (AAM-MAA). Our Valentine's Day card [PDF] won first place in the "Celebratory Greeting Card" category for firms under $15 million. We're already looking forward to next year's conference, which is sure to be an even bigger hit as Dawn will be serving as co-chair of the entire conference. See photos from the event!
- Wendy authored the article "Leaning on others is way for owner to travel light," which was published in the June 2007 issue of Upsize magazine. The article discussed the importance of strengths-base leadership.
- Dawn authored the article "The 10-10-10 Strategy to Marketing," which was featured in the May 2007 issue of Footnote, the Minnesota Society of CPAs' (MNCPA) publication. Reprinted with permission.
- Wendy authored the article "Niche Development is Marketing Intensive," which was featured in the May 2007 issue of Legal Marketing Association – Minnesota Chapter's newsletter.
- Wendy was featured in the May 2007 issue of Practical Accountant. The article, "Marketing Magic: Making a Newsletter Work" offers tips on creating a successful firm newsletter.
- Ingenuity's infamous Valentine's Day card [PDF] got mention in the Informer section of the April 2007 issue of Upsize magazine.
- Wendy spoke at the Philadelphia Chapter of the Association for Accounting Marketing on March 15. Her topic was "Developing Influence: Strategies for Building Influence at Your Firm." For more information, go to the Philadelphia Chapter of AAM.
Wendy nominated her sister for Upsize magazine's Lifeline Awards, a celebration designed to emphasize the role that mentors, advisers, confidants and champions play in the life of every growing company. Wendy was informed that she and her sister were chosen as an Upsize Lifeline Awards winner. They will accept their award at a March 5 banquet.
- Dawn was featured in the February 2007 issue of Practical Accountant. The article, "Marketing Magic: Keys to a Winning Proposal" outlines solid strategies for effective proposals.
- Dawn presented "Proposals that Win" for the Council of Independent Professional Consultants in Minneapolis on Friday, January 26. For more information, go to www.cipcmn.org.
- Wendy authored the article "Secret shopping law firms: The generational surprise," which appeared in the January 15, 2007 issue of Minnesota Lawyer.
- Wendy and Dawn were selected to speak at the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM) "Uncharted Waters" conference June 6 - 8, 2007 in Savannah, Georgia. - Dawn Wagenaar was a featured expert at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's 1st Friday Workshop in December. The workshop brings together a panel of experts to help a firm overcome their growing pains. The featured firms in December were Spectrum Staffing Services and Dacon Technical Staffing. Dawn was the expert on-hand who issues such as combining workplace cultures and selling across companies when two firms are merging. A recap of the workshop was written in article form and published in the January 5 issue of The Business Journal.
